“Fishing in the Tri Cities of Washington brings up images of massive schools of King Salmon, Monster 10 foot long Sturgeon, and Walleye jumping on the boat. What I do not normally picture is VIP service and luxury.
Recently I had the opportunity of staying at the Clover Inn and a new partnership with Tony Fisher of Fisher Catch Outfitters provided one of the top fishing experiences I have ever experienced from the region. My new wife and I will always wake up early in the morning for a fishing trip, but sleeping soundly through the night, having a fresh cup of coffee waiting at the front desk, and then being picked up from the dock just outside the hotel was a first. With over 27,000 King Salmon passing through the counting stations at the Dam that day,we were excited to get on the water. Over 410,000 King Salmon have come through so far and each day more are arriving. The next few weeks are going to be insane.
We had a great time on the water of the Columbia River and hooked into several fish and a behemoth that got away. It is incredible being able to see the large salmon jumping on top of the water around the boat and using the sonar to see the schools hanging out behind the underwater rock walls. After a full day of fishing and with the sun rising we headed back to the Clover Island Inn. Back at the dock the King Salmon was fillet for us by Capt Tony and he even offered to vacuum seal the fillets and ship them back to New York!!
That night we had a great King Salmon feast followed by sharing stories of the fish fight as we relaxed in the hot tub of the Clover Island Inn. This is how fishing is suppose to be!”
